United Shiloh Solar, LLC is a renewable energy project that consists of a 5 MW solar farm project and a 16-unit Solar Energy Greenhouse (“SEG”) Farm in Norlina, North Carolina. United Shiloh Solar, LLC is the joint venture partnership between AFG and the United Shiloh Missionary Baptist Association - a 41 church association in Warren, Vance, Granville, and Franklin counties with greater than 30,000 members. The Solar Energy Greenhouse Farm and utility-scale solar farm are one of the largest minority-owned solar projects in the United States and the largest in North Carolina. This project signifies United Shiloh Solar’s long term plan to provide renewable energy. Shiloh Solar plans to build 5 to 10 utility-scale solar farms by Q2 2018 on church properties of the Shiloh Missionary Association in Warren, Vance, Granville, and Franklin counties, each with a power capacity of 1 to 2 megawatts.
Revenue generated from the projects will provide economic development initiatives in the communities; served through the United Shiloh Missionary Baptist Association. The Shiloh Solar project has been endorsed by elected North Carolina State officials including; North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshal, North Carolina Senator Angela Bryant, and USDA North Carolina Director of Farm Service Agency and former Congressman Bob Etheridge. The Shiloh project also received local and regional media recognition with the groundbreaking ceremony on November 21st.
